Scenario open-sources full recipe: 2 drawings yield 4-direction isometric walking spritesheets
kastnerkyle · x · 2026-09-30
Scenario's team says they've fully cracked isometric walking spritesheets and released the entire recipe (prompts, skills, pipeline).
Result: each hero needs only two hand-drawn angles (SE/NE); mirroring yields 4 directions × 4 cycles (walk/run/idle/attack) × 8 frames. 5 heroes, 40 clips, playable in-browser.
Pipeline:
- Tried Retro Diffusion Animation's 4-angle walk mode first — only cardinal directions, 4 frames, no run/attack
- GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst draws both angles in one call (magenta background) for character consistency
- Each still seeds a 3-second Kling V3 clip: treadmill-style prompts for walk/run, pinned end frame for idle/attack
- A script keys out magenta, cuts loops, and assembles sheets
Fully reproducible.
