Mad science: Jev autopilot lands a plane in a terminal flight simulator
bilawalsidhu · x · 2026-09-25
samehkhamis built a 3D flight simulator running in the terminal and got Jev flying on autopilot: it takes in plane state, terrain state for collision avoidance, and distance/heading to the runway, then outputs steering, throttle, pitch, and brakes — successfully landing the plane. "Probably overkill, but definitely fun to build." bilawalsidhu calls it "the definition of a mad science experiment."
