Economist Tania Babina released an open-source replication package (GitHub: jrhao7/AIproductivityreplication) accompanying the NBER working paper "Canaries in the Gold Mine" (WP 35684). Building on Babina et al. (2024, JFE), it measures firms' internal AI investment via AI-skilled employment and extends firm-level AI panels through 2024 across seven AI subtechnology categories (general AI, ML, NLP, computer vision, generative AI, agentic AI, other), with code, a 2026 AI keyword list, and synthetic sample data.
