Michael Black argues ECCV papers may already be two years behind. His VIGA system (image-to-3D Blender scenes via agents) was rejected once, accepted at ECCV, then quickly surpassed by a Claude Code approach and later GPT-6 Astra—raising the question of what academic CV research should do as LLMs grow stronger.
