Winbond to Buy Infineon's NOR Flash Business for $1.12B, Becoming World's Largest Maker

Winbond agreed to acquire Infineon's NOR Flash and F-RAM business in an all-cash deal valued at $1.12 billion (NT$35.6B), targeted to close in H2 2027. The business serves automotive, industrial and infrastructure customers.

Post-deal, Winbond will become the world's largest NOR Flash maker with roughly 30% market share, and plans to revive the "Spansion" brand for the product line.
