Anthropic merged Chat and Cowork into a single Claude interface and launched ClaudeDocs and ClaudeSlides (both beta, paid tiers first), turning Claude into an AI-native office suite.
- Unified entry rolls out to Pro/Max first, then Team/Free; Claude decides whether to answer directly or invoke agentic capabilities, with chat, Cowork and Artifacts in one window
- Cowork originated from Claude Code in January as "Claude Code for the rest of your work," built by 4 engineers in 10 days, mostly written by Claude Code itself
- Slides can be presented in-app and exported to PowerPoint/PDF; docs, slides and design artifacts get shareable, mobile-editable links; scheduled tasks supported
- Context: OpenAI is pushing a ChatGPT super-app (Codex merged in, Atlas absorbed), Google embeds Gemini in Workspace, while Anthropic rebuilds office software around AI
