Virtual Runtime: route agent MCP traffic through a gateway for governance
bibryam · x · 2026-09-13
- Add the virtual-default label to a Gateway object in Kubernetes to create a Virtual Runtime.
- Instead of agent runtimes connecting directly to MCP Servers, their traffic flows through the virtual runtime (agentgateway), enabling centralized policy, security, governance, and observability at the gateway.
- Useful for teams managing many agent-to-MCP-server interactions.
