Blogger cixliv says he asked four fearful commenters exactly how AI is going to kill them, and none could give a concrete explanation — nor how open source models could be blocked. In a quoted reply he adds that US regulators cook up a doomsday story every decade (climate, now AI), which ends in regulatory capture and NGO grift, while China won't slow down and will dominate just as it already does in robots.
