A philosophical take on the long arc of AI and superintelligence: we live in the middle of someone else's timeline and mistake the view for the ending. Nothing in the fossil record suggests the universe cares whether a story has a satisfying protagonist.
The sharpest line: if something looks back at us the way we look at dinosaurs, it won't be cruelty — just the absence of any reason to look back at all.
