A developer shares that after their company moved from a static approach to an agentic one, token usage went absolutely insane. Fortunately they run their own models on rented GPUs with fixed costs.
Napkin math: at their current volume, switching to a barely acceptable commercial model (Sonnet 5) would cost roughly $1-2k per day, or $30-60k per month. They're asking how other teams running agents on provider APIs in production afford it.
