Every Used Codex and Agents to Survive the Railway Credential Breach
every · x · 2026-10-31
Last Wednesday, Railway disclosed that hackers may have obtained customers' decrypted API keys, database passwords, and other credentials. As a Railway customer, Every had to identify potentially exposed credentials across its Railway projects, determine which apps still depended on them, and coordinate replacements.
Team member Willie used Codex to build a shared list of all passwords and API keys Every stored on Railway, tagging each with a likely owner. The Every Agent reported hourly how many keys still needed investigation or replacement. "This incident would have been insane for us without AI," Willie says.
