OpenAI: Codex prompts from Buckmaster 'impossible' to have influenced training

Amid the Buckmaster/Codex controversy, an OpenAI spokesperson told NYT's Kenneth Chang: "We can say categorically that it is impossible for Dr. Buckmaster's Codex prompts over the last two months to have influenced the system in any way, including training." Retweeter LinusMixson noted it was virtuous of OpenAI not to claim this before establishing it, and to actively undermine its own announcement by acknowledging uncertainty.
