OpenAI's ambitious new policy roadmap drew praise from Nathan Calvin, who noted Paul Christiano joining the Safety and Security Committee plus the nonprofit board with real independent oversight, and clear endorsement of gene synthesis screening. Despite quibbles over OpenAI's claimed support for SB 53 and the RAISE Act, he sees signs OpenAI isn't back to business as usual — but worries actions may still fall short in ambition and priority.
