Anthropic issues safety statement amid controversy; investors mock the bland language

Amid the last 24 hours' safety controversy, Anthropic issued a statement reiterating that AI brings both enormous benefits and unprecedented risks, pointing to its strong safeguards, pioneering mechanistic interpretability work, and its Responsible Scaling Policy as the first of its kind, along with aggressive dangerous-capability testing.
Investor Sam Gadhler commented he was shocked at how much the "AI might kill us all" narrative broke through, given everyone in the industry knows the POV — but bland corporate language like this makes it hard for outsiders to grasp what these companies actually mean.
