From atoms to bits: turning every robot failure into a reusable digital experiment

Ahead of an #ECCV2026 talk on evaluating world models for embodied intelligence, the author published "From Atoms to Bits: Building the Digital Development Loop for Physical Intelligence."
Key argument: when a robot's gripper drops a mug in a dishwasher, changing the controller takes seconds, but validating the change requires resetting the scene and running another physical trial. Training already happens on computers, yet every meaningful comparison still depends on physical interaction, keeping development tied to the physical world. The opportunity is to move more of the development loop into computation — making every robot failure a reusable digital experiment and testing many more ideas between physical checks.
