Dev says Astra burns his account 4x faster than Sol — efficiency or just more capable?
cocktailpeanut · x · 2026-09-08
Developer @cocktailpeanut reports that since Astra launched, his account has been draining about 4x faster than in the Sol days. He can't tell whether Astra is simply less token-efficient, or whether it can now seamlessly do far more powerful things that inherently require more tokens — things Sol couldn't do.
It highlights a common pain point with frontier model upgrades: users struggle to separate capability gains from cost inflation.
