Devs are talking to their AI agents like coworkers — positivity, avatars and small talk
menhguin · x · 2026-09-07
Developer menhguin shares his three habits for working with AI agents: always keeping a positive tone (which he finds helps agent autonomy), using animal/alien avatars to avoid over-anthropomorphizing while still treating them as smart entities, and discussing non-work topics in depth so agents understand his goals. The thread started when @willcb asked if others have begun talking to their agents like people; willcb says he treats them as colleagues and finds positivity "such an unlock," especially in multi-agent setups.
