Hugging Face builds funes: a universal memory and file system for coding agents
MaziyarPanahi · x · 2026-09-07
Hugging Face engineer @ariG23498 introduced funes, a project aimed at giving agents a place to store memory and retrieve it on demand.
The motivation comes from a real pain point with coding agents: switching machines greets you with a fresh session, and all the agent's previous decisions and traces disappear. funes is pitched as a one-stop "agentic universal file system" to solve this.
The project is still growing, and the author is inviting users to try it and share feedback.
