AI agent makes Screendrop video exports ~3x faster using Metal motion blur
gabrielchua · x · 2026-09-06
Developer fayazara tasked Astro with fixing slow video exports in Screendrop. The agent switched motion blur handling to Metal and went to extreme lengths: it programmatically generated its own video samples, fed them into the rendering engine, and checked every exported frame to verify quality. Result: video exports are now roughly 3x faster. The author also praised Astro's UI-building skills while adding a media library.
