A developer critiques current AI architecture hype:
- Continual Learning: The bottleneck isn't architectural but data preprocessing. Current pipelines are already messy; introducing neuroplasticity into weights requires much stricter discipline than current fault-tolerant flows. Scratchpads remain superior for debugging due to legibility.
- World Models: It is unclear if proposed video architectures are necessary for AGI takeoff. While humans process photons, the specific video models may not be optimal. The argument that text is insufficient for world modeling is weak, as current LLMs already demonstrate capabilities exceeding the average college graduate.
