Crowdsourcing Robot Training: 50k Trajectories Generated via Browser Teleoperation

Researchers introduced AXIS, a community-driven data engine letting users teleoperate robot arms via web browsers to auto-generate and validate manipulation tasks. It turns raw demos into clean training data via success checking, quality filtering, and physics-based augmentation.
The AXIS dataset spans 207 tasks and 50,000+ trajectories. Training the π0.5 vision-language-action model on it boosted overall success by 5.8%, outperforming RoboCasa365 pretraining by 37.3%, with consistent gains under layout, sensor noise, and camera perturbations.
