Robot Founder Uses His Own Humanoid Robot as Post-Surgery Caregiver

Shi Yunlei, founder of RobotGym, used his company's humanoid robot, "Xiaoru" (Qijia Q1), as a live-in caregiver following abdominal surgery, demonstrating the practical potential of embodied AI in home care.
The robot features a hybrid wheeled, humanoid, and wheelchair design with tactile skin. During his recovery, the robot assisted with daily tasks such as handing over assist straps, making oatmeal, reminding him to take medication, tidying the bed, picking up takeout, and wheeling him outdoors. However, medical procedures like dressing changes still require a human nurse.
