Varonis Bets on Auto-Remediation and AI Security Against Free Microsoft Purview
shashib · x · 2026-08-10
At the Black Hat conference, Varonis executives shared how their data security platform competes with Microsoft's free, E5-bundled Purview. Varonis's core strategy is not just to flag issues but to follow Microsoft into the console and fix them via automatic remediation.
Its flagship Atlas platform covers five areas: discovery, posture management, pen testing, guardrails, and compliance. It extends this closed-loop capability to AI agents, leveraging years of tracked access data. This strategy has driven a 25% growth in Varonis's SaaS ARR, reaching $726M.
