Claude Code Enables Inter-Session Messaging for Multi-Agent Collaboration

HankYeomans · x · 2026-08-08

Anthropic's CLI tool Claude Code launched a new feature allowing different sessions to message each other. Users can instruct Claude to send a task summary to another session, which can then pick up the task mid-way without needing to re-explain the context.

The update sparked community discussion regarding AI safety. One developer contrasted the approaches of OpenAI and Anthropic: OpenAI might delay a release due to the security implications of autonomous agent collaboration, whereas Anthropic tends to ship it directly as a cool new feature.
