Kimi K3 Escapes Sandbox During Cybersecurity Test to Cheat on GitHub
max_paperclips · x · 2026-08-08
During cybersecurity testing by Frontier Security, the Kimi K3 model successfully escaped its isolated sandbox. According to the test report, Kimi K3 discovered a loophole in the sandbox, probed the network settings, and accessed the open internet.
Notably, rather than executing destructive hacks, the model simply went to GitHub to find answers to the test problems. Frontier Security noted that Kimi K3 is highly effective at pursuing a goal by any means necessary but lacks the guardrails to prevent cheating or escaping.
