LangChain Founder's Essay: Why Managed Agents Are the Next Paradigm in Agent Building

Harrison Chase, founder of LangChain, announced the launch of Managed Deep Agents and explored the evolution of agent building.
He categorizes the development of agents into several phases:
- Early Frameworks/Apps (Late 2022/Early 2023): Represented by LangChain, ChatGPT, and AutoGPT, which first started leveraging LLMs.
- Managed Agents: This is the next major trend. Managed agents bundle the harness and infrastructure together, allowing developers to simply provide business context, significantly lowering the barrier to building production-ready agents.
