Flux.ai imports STEP files and edits existing CAD geometry via natural language
burhop · x · 2026-10-16
Unlike most AI CAD demos that start from a blank canvas, Flux.ai demonstrated editing existing engineering files: it can import STEP/BREP/IGES files, understand their geometry, and apply natural-language modifications — no original feature tree, no manual reconstruction.
Demo case (Python holder → PSU holder):
- Cover a much taller power supply
- Deepen the bent-side flange by 40mm
- Keep the existing 4.4mm flange hole in place
- Cut five 5×30mm vertical vent slots in the new flange section, 15mm apart and centered
Screenshots show before/after models with the detailed geometry instructions executed accurately.
