Ilya's SSI to Debut Model in August, Rumored to Focus on Continual Learning at Scale

Ilya Sutskever's Safe Superintelligence (SSI) is reportedly planning to release its first model in August. Industry observers speculate it won't be just another LLM designed to edge out benchmark scores, but rather a major step toward AGI.

Given Sutskever's track record (co-creating AlexNet, Seq2Seq, and the original GPT) and his recent interviews, predictions suggest the new model might focus on Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI). Specifically, it could pioneer Continual Learning at Scale, enabling a model to learn on the fly from experience and adapt dynamically, rather than relying solely on static pre-training data.
