Jeff Dean: Automating Experimental Loops to Tackle Grand Engineering Challenges
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-08-06
Jeff Dean highlighted that automating the experimental loop in machine learning can significantly accelerate research and engineering progress.
He noted that while this approach will initially focus on ML research and engineering, the team believes it is broadly applicable. Ultimately, it could help solve key subproblems within the fourteen NAE Grand Challenge problems. Successfully executing this vision requires deep expertise in both machine learning and large-scale systems.
