Handroid: A Reconfigurable Robot Switching Between Humanoid and Dexterous Hand

Researchers introduced Handroid, a reconfigurable robot featuring a shared 27-DoF body capable of transforming between a humanoid form and a dexterous hand.
This design allows the same joints to serve different roles depending on the mode, massively expanding the robot's task workspace while sharing sensing and control interfaces. Collaborators praised the design as a brilliant idea with amazing execution, creatively extending the traditionally limited workspace of robot arms.
