YC-Backed WaveSight: A New Camera That Sees Through Walls

Y Combinator-backed startup Applied Electrodynamics has unveiled WaveSight, a novel hardware device that allows humans to "see through walls."
The device is designed to bring radio frequencies and other electromagnetic waves into human perception, revealing internal structures, temperature, and chemical composition. Aimed at construction crews, industrial inspectors, and security personnel, WaveSight can map mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems behind surfaces with millimeter accuracy. It can also be used for final assembly inspections on manufacturing lines or non-contact security screening of packages. The team consists of former Apple and Google engineers and MIT scientists, holding over 250 patents.
