AI Moves Too Fast: NAACL 2027 Workshop Proposals Slammed as Outdated
yanaiela · x · 2026-07-30
NAACL has released its Call for Workshop Proposals for 2027, with a submission deadline of September 2026. A researcher pointed out that this means proposals for 2027 must be submitted before conferences like EMNLP 2026 even take place.
They criticized the mechanism, arguing that the AI field is evolving so quickly that this long, lagging cycle cannot ensure the relevance of workshop topics by the time they actually occur.
