OceanBase seeks its first outside funding as annualized revenue tops RMB 1.4 billion

OceanBase, the database company under Ant Group, is reportedly in talks to raise RMB 2–3 billion in its first external financing round.
Key points from the report:
- 2026 annualized revenue has surpassed RMB 1.4 billion, up about 70% YoY.
- The company already has thousands of customers, mostly in China, and is expanding into Southeast Asia, Japan, India and Latin America.
- In June, OceanBase launched a new lakehouse-style AI database and is testing it at dozens of customer sites.
- The company says it is moving beyond a traditional database into an AI data platform for enterprise data management, agent data supply and data services.
The report also says OceanBase is preparing to strengthen independent operations with a separate board and equity incentive mechanism before taking in outside capital.
