Pangram raises $9M as AI-generated content swamps the web
Pangram, a New York-based startup focused on detecting AI-generated text, raised $9 million led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Haystack, ScOp, Script Capital, and Cadenza.
- The company also launched Pangram 4, its next-generation text detector, plus a new AI image detection model.
- Pangram says the text model is over 99% accurate at spotting AI-assisted writing and mixed human-AI text, and it can better catch AI humanizer tools.
- The image detector is still in research preview for now, with broader release planned in the coming weeks.
- The founders say the product is aimed at the growing flood of AI slop, bot content, and AI-enabled disinformation online.
