Peter Wildeford argues that Moonshot’s reported use of Anthropic model distillation raises clear terms-of-service and deception concerns.

He says using Anthropic’s product that way appears to violate the agreement and amounts to being “deceptive” toward Anthropic.
He also claims the scale of the distillation effort is huge, with “millions upon millions of bogus accounts” allegedly used to extract information.
In his view, the goal is not a pro-humanity effort but a geopolitical strategy aimed at improving models and weakening Anthropic’s competitive position.
