AMD to Invest $5B in Anthropic for 2 GW of MI450 Chips

Chip giant AMD plans to invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic. In exchange, Anthropic has committed to purchasing 2 GW worth of MI450 chips starting in 2027. This indicates that top model makers are aggressively locking in their future compute supply chains.
