Unconventional AI acquires inference chip firm NeuReality in 1,000x efficiency bid
NaveenGRao · x · 2026-10-27
Unconventional AI, founded by Naveen Rao, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire NeuReality, the Israeli startup behind purpose-built AI inference silicon and infrastructure. NeuReality's team brings seven years of experience across system architecture, silicon design, and AI systems software. Unconventional is building a 4-dimensional compute substrate targeting a 1,000x improvement in AI compute efficiency versus conventional architectures, requiring co-design across device physics, silicon architecture, and models themselves. Rao says NeuReality's engineering team materially compresses the roadmap to production systems.
