OpenAI plans a $20B Georgia data center with 3.2GW of power by 2032

OpenAI says it will spend $20 billion to launch Project Camellia, a new data center in Effingham County, Georgia.
- It also contracted with Georgia Power for 3.2 gigawatts of electricity delivery between 2028 and 2032.
- OpenAI says this is the first site where it is the lead designer and developer; at other sites it rents chips from cloud providers such as Oracle and AWS.
