Musk: robot RAM demand will dwarf everything else, and 100% of superintelligence compute goes to deep space
elonmusk · x · 2026-10-27
Responding to an estimate that 550k annual humanoid robots would need only 21.5 PB of DRAM (0.04% of 2026's 48 EB production), Musk called the analysis silly: robot RAM needs will exceed everything else on Earth, since shaping atoms requires robots on physical substrates. Superintelligence needs will vastly exceed that, but 100% of SI compute will be in deep space.
