AMD and Anthropic reportedly signed a 2-gigawatt chip deal worth tens of billions
According to the WSJ report quoted in the post, AMD and Anthropic have agreed to a major compute deal:
- The contract covers 2 gigawatts of chips and is worth tens of billions of dollars.
- AMD will invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic.
- Anthropic plans to deploy AMD’s MI450 accelerators in the first half of 2027.
- The lab will buy chips for its own data centers and lease additional capacity through cloud providers and neoclouds.
