United Imaging unveils a “Meta Hospital” strategy for AI-driven healthcare beyond the hospital
智东西 · wechat · 2026-07-22
At WAIC 2026, United Imaging unveiled its “Meta Hospital” strategy, aiming to use AI to blur the line between hospital and home, extend care across the full patient lifecycle, and lift quality, efficiency, cost, and access.
The company says the strategy rests on four layers:
- intelligent hardware and imaging systems evolving into autonomous diagnostic robots,
- multimodal medical foundation models and task-specific agents,
- wearable devices that keep collecting real-world health signals outside the hospital,
- and a unified data-and-knowledge platform spanning chips, devices, PACS and EMR.
CEO Xue Min argued that doctors will become “super doctors” with an AI orchestrator, while patients will become “super individuals” whose health is continuously monitored and intervened upon through wearables and digital twins.
