Z.ai, formerly Zhipu, is said to have partially started operating a 1GW data center built entirely around Chinese-made chips.

According to the report, the facility is meant to support next-generation GLM development and reflects how Chinese AI labs are pushing to build local compute stacks amid Nvidia restrictions. The article also notes the company is already operating several clusters with more than 10,000 chips each.
