Open-Source Synergy: GLM-5.2 and Qwen3-VL Tackle Structural Biology

MaziyarPanahi · x · 2026-07-11

Developers have successfully enabled open-source models to autonomously complete structural biology tasks. The workflow operates as follows: GLM-5.2 drives molecular visualization tools and proposes perspectives. Lacking visual capabilities, it hands off to Qwen3-VL to observe the pixel-level render, score it, and suggest corrections. GLM then continuously retries based on this feedback. This multimodal loop of "generate-observe-critique-optimize" empowers the models to self-improve, ultimately succeeding in the 3D localization and visualization of drug molecules.
