GitHub Next's Chopin prototype explores real-time multiplayer agentic planning

GitHub Next published Chopin, a research prototype of a real-time multiplayer agentic planning environment by Krzysztof Cieślak and Maggie Appleton, exploring how to make team planning with agents truly collaborative — less cognitive load, more capacity for decision-making and deep research.
Core thesis: with a frontier model, rigorous upfront planning, and plenty of tests/verification, swathes of senior developers have stopped meticulously reading code diffs — implementation-level decisions are handled by agents at warp speed. The important work now sits before and after code is written: planning and review, and planning is the unsolved piece everything downstream depends on. The page visualizes this shift with a scroll animation shrinking implementation while expanding planning and review.
