Claude Cowork Lands on Mobile and Web
新智元 · wechat · 2026-07-08
Anthropic officially announced that Claude Cowork is now available on mobile and web. Desktop task progress can be checked and taken over on mobile anytime, transitioning Cowork from 'needing you present' to 'it works even when you aren't'. Chat and Cowork have been merged into a single entry point, and the doubled usage limits have been extended to August 5.
Tasks run on Anthropic's cloud, allowing them to execute overnight even with the computer closed: Cowork will autonomously break down, sequence, and schedule execution times, automatically detecting connections to Slack, email, calendars, etc. It only pushes notifications to your phone for confirmation when a decision needs to be made, forming a complete closed loop: 'receive brief → plan → find tools → pull data → create docs → wait for human decision on bottlenecks → output and stop at draft'. Desktop remains the primary hub for deep work, with mobile and web acting as subsets. Multiple tech giants are pushing agents into the daily chore market for average workers: OpenAI Codex's weekly active users surpassed 5 million (knowledge workers make up about 20%, growing over 3x faster than developers), nearly half of Microsoft Copilot conversations are non-coding cognitive work, and Google Gemini Agent Mode is competing in the same space.
