Anthropic Launches Auto-Connect and Enterprise-Managed Authorization for MCP Plugins

On November 4, Anthropic announced via the official Claude Developers account and engineer bcherny that Claude now supports plugin auto-connect, along with a companion enterprise-managed authorization mechanism.

When users log in to Claude, plugins can connect automatically without per-server OAuth authorization for each MCP server; the prerequisite is that the MCP server designates Claude as a trusted issuer, with Claude issuing signed credentials.
bcherny noted the feature targets Team and enterprise scenarios: enterprise users get access to company plugins upon login, with no individual authorization needed.
Anthropic also launched Enterprise-Managed Authorization (EMA), built on MCP open extensions: enterprise admins can onboard plugins for the whole organization with one click through their own identity provider (IdP), sparing employees from searching, logging into, and authorizing each MCP server individually.
According to a repost by TansuYegen, the auto-connect feature is rolling out in beta, with Anthropic partnering with analytics firm Amplitude to demo the capability.
