Claude adds auto-connect for plugins: MCP servers can now trust Claude as identity issuer
ClaudeDevs · x · 2026-11-04
Anthropic's developer account announced that Claude users can now auto-connect plugins at login, without per-plugin OAuth authorization, for MCP servers that accept Claude as a trusted issuer.
Instead of an OAuth consent screen, Claude presents a signed JWT identity assertion; the authorization server validates it and returns an access token in a single back-channel request—no browser redirect, no consent page. Plugin builders are encouraged to add support so users get started faster and stay connected without re-authorizing.
