Claude Code Desktop gets major update: parallel sessions and subsessions

On October 15, Anthropic's official ClaudeDevs account announced a major update to the Claude Code desktop app, with the headline improvement being the experience of running multiple sessions side by side: faster session startup, easier splitting of work across sessions, and at-a-glance visibility into each session's current running state. Developer feedback has been largely positive; developer trq212 said the new version "feels more aware of its own capabilities," autonomously spinning out subsessions to work together during tasks, and called the polish significant enough to feel like a v2-level update.
