OpenAI Adds Voice Conversations to Codex Threads

OpenAI has added voice conversation to Codex threads for its coding assistant, including support for existing threads and projects. Developers can now talk by voice with the same agent that wrote a piece of code or a PR — discussing implementation details, debating architectural trade-offs, and hashing out product decisions. You can jump into voice whenever back-and-forth is needed, and once things are settled the agent continues working autonomously. Multiple users relayed this official news on September 5.
