Google and UK Launch "Operation Blue Skies" to Help Jets Avoid Climate-Warming Contrails

Google has partnered with the UK government, NATS, and academic institutions on Operation Blue Skies, the world's first government-backed transoceanic trial using AI to predict and help aircraft avoid contrails, which account for roughly a third of aviation's climate impact.
